In 2020 Cadence began their services by conducting a master plan audit and provided a revised master plan for the 242-acre site. Whitecap is located on a barrier island adjacent to Corpus Christi, Texas, and northeast of the Padre Island National Seashore. The master plan utilizes regenerative design and nature-based design solutions that are contextual to the local Padre Island marine and terrestrial ecology.
Currently in Phase 1, Cadence continues their collaboration with the design and development team. The site’s location provides an opportunity for innovative design solutions that can respond to climate change by creating new habitats for wildlife, developing canal front park spaces with living shorelines and offering an abundance of health benefits with access to recreation and outdoor education for both residents and the local community.
