Cadence worked closely with the client to rejuvenate their backyard paradise. Utilizing existing specimen trees, several existing balinese garden structures and a few existing feature plants, they delved into recreating an IndoChine Garden oasis. Cadence carefully audited the existing conditions of the site. A conscious decision was collectively made to remove and thin out the overcrowded understory while opening up the canopy of the space to allow more sunlight into the garden. A custom designed water feature was installed to create an audible focal point that can be heard from the newly renovated wine tasting room. Hand-cut irregular stone pavers are laid strategically to allow family and guest to easily stroll through the garden’s path. 60 linear feet of existing porch space now overlooks key moments in the landscape, rare plant material, balinese sculpture and an impressive collection of orchids are now graciously presented in this Indochine Garden design.
