5 miles northeast of the Southernmost Point of the Continental US, Stock Island Marina Village is home to the largest deep water marina in all of the Florida Keys. Full of rustic charm with a deep marine history, the working waterfront community includes a recently completed 100 room hotel and new expansion to develop the remaining phases of the site with additional hotel bungalows, various exterior spaces, a didactic landscape and boutique retail spaces. Cadence worked directly with ownership, the operations team and allied design professionals to extract the site’s potential as a destination marina resort project. Cadence provided Master Planning and Construction Documentation to create a vision that effortlessly connect villagers, guests and staff through the various exterior spaces and experiences.
Completed in Fall of 2019, the design elements focus around a community-centric village and include: lagoon pool, orchid pavilion, waterfront bar and restaurant, artist’s co-op space, dog park, resident’s herb and vegetable garden, exercise trail and event lawn. A marina walk connects visitors to both the past and present working waterfront with way finding signage and an interpretive trail. The site’s circulation also connects to existing nearby community spaces and natural marine sanctuaries.
