In 2010 the co-founders of Cadence worked with branding professionals to establish the name and character of their new company. Cadence – connecting physical and social landscapes was born. Fast forward 13 years and Cadence entered into a new season. Now woman-led and existing as a team of women that have worked together for close to a decade, a re-look at this most meaningful statement connecting physical and social landscapes emerged.

With guidance from new team member, Jessie Alexander, who specializes in art direction, the Cadence team embarked on visually bringing to life these words. Founding Principal, Rebecca Bradley and Jessie Krier began their Landscape Architecture careers together working in the corporate design realm, their professional paths separated them for some time but their bonds of friendship and admiration for each others work never waned. Both professionals have journeyed through creative careers and motherhood, and now their paths have reunited.

Through a variety of discovery session that also included Culture Community Manager, Ashley Turner, a deeper dive into language and graphic art brought forth this newest piece of artwork. Human created and hand-crafted artwork intertwined into our Landscape Architecture practice has been an element since the early days of the firm. A collection of process and behind the scenes photos seemed appropriate to share with the Cadence community. A nod to the continued commitment to collaboration, re-thinking, and long-lasting relationships. We hope you enjoy the story behind “Mother Nature”.
