Hot off the press – Recycled Cereal Box Cards

Interested in reusing materials to recreate their purpose? So are we. A couple of months back, we began collecting our cereal boxes instead of throwing them in with the rest of the recycles here at the office. We had no idea at the time of how we would utilize them, until we began running out of thank you cards to send to our clients. We made a quick visit to our local printer (who previously helped us with our business cards) to see what they could do. Within about a week, here is what we picked up.

Yes, in the end they are just old cereal boxes. But, this innovative process also opens a window into our resourcefulness at Cadence. Adaptive reuse is a big focus with many of our projects and you can see how it also translates into our everyday operations. Whether its old boxes, an old gas funnel turned into a light fixture or empty building structures – it is always exciting to have an opportunity to change the primary function of something while retaining some of the existing details that make it unique.

The end result: a quick one-off and inexpensive way to repurpose already recycled products. So if you receive a card from us, remember to flip it over and check out Tony the Tiger, the Cheerio’s bee, or maybe even the blue mountains of an old Coors Light box.

A big thanks to Sasha over at Minuteman Press for working with us to create a unique product. As a side note, check out some of the repurposed consumer products that Shelton Davis has been developing at his company, Repurposed Goods, based out of Atlanta.
