Urban Design

The SIX13

Cadence provided urban design services for this mid rise multi-use urban infill project along Fort Lauderdale’s historic Sistrunk Boulevard. The Six13 will host restaurant to activate the street front and promote a connection to all surrounding neighborhoods. Limited green space at grade required design solutions to include a modular suspended pavement system to support large tree growth and provide on-site stormwater management through absorption, evapotranspiration and interception. This green infrastructure approach coupled with a Florida native plant palette creates a resilient landscape, adaptive to an urban environment. Residents will have access to signature Six13 bicycles to encourage travel to the surrounding retail, restaurants, a nearby Art District and future urban trails.
