The sudden emergence of Fort Lauderdale’s Flagler Village out of its not-so-humble warehouse beginnings can be attributed to many factors, but it’s primarily the artists whose collective spirit and nuanced work has set the area’s charming, alluring tone. In the midst of it all — combining the urban with the art while keeping a necessary focus on the nature — is Mockingbird Trail. Here art installations inspire, contemporary design awes, and natural wonders share space with an elusive, mythical creature inviting you to discover even more. It’s all the creation of Cadence, the landscape architecture firm whose vision and services have implemented more than 65 projects throughout the tricounty region since 2010, with more than a dozen more under construction or scheduled to break ground soon.
