Mockingbird Trail 2nd Art of Community Grant from
Community Foundation of Broward

Cadence is pleased to announce the expansion of Mockingbird Trail with its first mural. On behalf of the Friends of Mockingbird Trail, Cadence has partnered with Unconventional and Lighthouse of Broward to bring Fort Lauderdale mural project unlike anything that currently exists in South Florida. Cadence and Unconventional will work closely with the community and the Lighthouse of Broward to develop a community mural that is sensory based, not only visually appealing for those of us with the gift of sight but with tactile, aromatic and audio cues to create a composition that is plural and furthers the tale of the Giant Mythical Mockingbird. The community mural paint day is set for January 15th, 2018.

Unconventional, based in Miami, has produced numerous murals for corporations including Apple, Airbnb, and Juan Valdez Cafe with a focus that an interactive art experience should be well-produced, long-lasting and socially responsible. This will be the first mural for Unconventional in Broward County. A neighbor and on the Trail, Lighthouse of Broward was established in 1973 and is a 501(c)(3) organization this is the sole provider of rehabilitation services, training, and support programs for Broward County’s 125,000 visually impaired population. They are also the recent recipient of the 207 Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar.
